Instruction in SCALE-UP, or Student-Centered Activities for Large Enrollment Undergraduate Programs, is in labs all the time, eliminating the old-school lecture-to-lab format. Our SCALE-UP classroom opened last spring; it was built from scratch at a cost of nearly $225,000.

Behrend Legacy Created the Same YearAmy and Lisa Burns
A mother-daughter duo walked across the stage to receive bachelor’s degrees during our spring 2008 commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17. Although ending at the same place, Lisa and Amy Burns’ journeys toward four-year degrees were very different. Lisa, with an associate’s degree from Behrend, took one or two core classes each semester since 1997. Amy’s more traditional approach began in fall 2004 and chose Behrend since it was the same school her mother and brother were attending. Read the full story.
Penn State Behrend Legacies happen every year. Find out more on how your son or daughter can attend Behrend.
